While other girls were experimenting with make-up and picking out dresses for seventh-grade dances, Christy was recording demos in her bedroom and picking out guitars. Her prolific writing and recording has resulted in over 20 unofficially released EPs and albums, most of which are now sold out or out of print. She performed live throughout Jr. High and High School, in group and solo ventures, further enhancing her passion for music. She finally released what she refers to as her first real album, “Panic Gracefully,” on her newly-launched label Rckstr4lfe Records, just after she graduated from high school.

“In this follow-up to 2007’s Panic Gracefully, 20-year-old American singer-songwriter Christy Sechrist expands her usual easy listening, acoustic fare to include rock elements and upbeat tracks with tongue-in-cheek attitude. Melded with edgy tunes like “Burning Through Me” and dance-esque tracks (such as “Shatter Me”), the record is highly relatable and entertaining. Don’t think the artist has ditched her darker side entirely, tracks like “Pray for Happy” and the guitar-laden “Love Me Too” keep her from escaping her shadow. The main track “There’s No Changing The World” and anti-love song “Because I Love You” stand out. The album is beautifully self-written and self-produced. This is perfect for anyone who is in love, is frustrated by love (and perhaps even hates it), anyone who wants to rock out or sit back, and everyone in between.
